This footage was captured inside the San Francisco Art Institute on October 9, 2021. Although the campus was closed to the public, it was Fleet Week, an annual air show celebrating San Francisco’s military history. Despite the closure, viewers gathered on the roof of SFAI to watch the show. While I was indoors, lying on a ceramics table, initially drawn to the natural light, I caught the attention of a passerby outside. Through the window, we interacted, exchanging waves, laughter, shrugs, and even dancing to the music playing outside. However, since the camera was set up to film me, this stranger remains unseen. The camera serves as our sole witness to this brief, spontaneous interaction.
